What do you have to start with? Do you have a current mumps.dat and mumps.gld
or are you starting from raw globals?

if you like to use worldvista mumps.gld, just set the

"gtmgbldir" variable with the path/mumps.gld

like
export gtmgbldir="$vista_home/g/mumps.gld"

and make sure to change the segment mumps.dat file path.

Then run the GDE just like for 32 bit and that should do the trick. That is
discussed here in the instructions. You can just extrapolate to what would be
necessary for your system.

The global directory is a binary file and you will need to create a new global directory file. Go into GDE with your
32-bit GT.M and do a "show -all" command. Then enter the commands to create an equivalent 64-bit global directory with
your 64-bit GT.M. Better yet, create a text file and use GDE's "@" command to create the global directory file every time.

More information in the GDE chapter of the Administration and Operations Guide on the GT.M user documentation page.

No.  The database file format is the same for 32- and 64-bit GT.M on x86 GNU/Linux.
