This is probably more likely a problem with my operating system, Windows XP, SP2, than CCleaner. I just installed the latest version 5.4 over an older version, 3.01, which was working fine. But when I try to start the new version I get the following error message: "The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll". I suspect this is because it was expecting the SP3 KERNEL32.dll?

Since I am about to retire this PC in the near future, I don't want to install service pack 3 to find out if it will solve the problem (I am not even sure if pack 3 is still available). So, I would appreciate any suggestions on how I might get version 5.4 to work on SP2. I have yet to uninstall and reinstall v5.4 to see if it was a bad installation.

As a side note, the reason I wanted to upgrade CCleaner was because I read where the newer versions are capable of cleaning out Firefox cache2 entries which are now filling up my hard drive with gigabytes of content that I can't seem to get rid of by telling Firefox to clean out my cache.

I think I mislead you; it was many versions ago, not 5.40, that ccleaner required sp3. I don't know which version, but we have many XP (sp3) users here who are able to use even the latest version of ccleaner, maybe one of them might know the version.

Anyway, I had found a July 2014 web page that mentioned the latest CCleaner version was capable of cleaning cache2 in Firefox, so I went back in the archive at Filehippo and grabbed v4.16 and installed it. It also installed the Google Chrome browser, which I didn't ask for. But, v4.16 did run on my SP2 PC, and it finds the Firefox cache2 entries like I wanted it to.

Hi everyone! I use windows 7 64-bit, and when I try to install an app (for example WhatsApp), I get this error: Kernel32.dll entry not point error. The procedure entry point SetDefaultdllDirectories could not be located kernel32.dll. What am I doing now?

What is Kernel32.dll? It is an important DLL file in the Microsoft Windows system. As a Windows KT Base API Client DLL file, the real kernel32 dll file is a 32-bit dynamic link library file used by the Windows system to manage system memory, interrupts, input/output operations, synchronization, and process.

What causes the entry point not found kernel32.dll Windows XP error? As the error message suggested, the error is often related to a corrupted or missing kernel32.dll file. To be specific, virus infection, power outage, hard drive errors, corrupted system files, and outdated device drivers can cause the kernel32 dll missing error.

In addition, you can try replacing the corrupted kernel32.dll with a new one via Microsoft Windows setup CD/DVD. If you have a Windows installation media, you can follow the steps below to recover the dll file.

Step 2. Type the sfc /scannow command in the elevated command prompt and hit Enter. After that, the SFC tool will scan and try to repair the corrupted system files automatically.

Step 2. You will receive a message saying Check your computer for memory problems. Here are 2 options for you to perform a RAM test. It is recommended that you click Restart now and check for problems.

Step 3. Then your computer will restart and Windows Memory Diagnostics Tool will automatically perform the RAM test. This process may take you some time. You can see the overall test status bar and the detected problems during this process.

If none of the above methods fix the entry point not found kernel32 dll Windows XP/7/8/10 error, you may need to perform a clean installation of Windows. By doing so, your system will revert to its original status, which can clear the kernel32.dll.error.

But now everytime i try to open firefox it displaying the error massage:firefox.exe - entry point not foundThe Procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll

I try to uninstall firefox, and reinstall again.i have to use internet explorer and torch browser, which don't fit me and make me in pain.i try to run in firefox safe mode, according to some suggestion here, but it wouldn't allow me to open Safe Mode (i even holding the Shift button when clicking on firefix icon)

hi BlessingJoyfull, i have seen similar error messages by a couple of other xp users after they updated to firefox 36. mozilla's engineers are interested in looking into that matter but would need further information.

when you right-click the firefox icon on the desktop, go to properties > compatibility please also make sure that compatibility mode is NOT switched on.another thing to try is to perform a clean reinstall of firefox...

tried to run chkdsk on drive c, repairing all bad sectors and error, restarting windows and click firefox again, and... snap! the same error message: The Procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library Kernel32.dll

So glad that finally you came up with a perfect solution, last night i'm trying to download some antivirus that cor-el tell me. But i have to use Torch Browser, which almost block every website due to Net error certificate. And i almost gave up and prepare to pack my cpu and bring to local shop for hard restart windows :D

i did the windows restore point, before i came to this forum.i did all effort that i can thought of, such as: restore windows, remove all mozilla firefox folder, reinstall the new one, update all drivers and plug in, created a new login user in windows, checking+update my clock desktop, even i try to download the kernel32.dll file and register it using regserv command prompt.i even think of reinstalling new windows or upgrading it to windows7 or 8.

I bought a new printer with the HP Color LaserJet Pro M154a type, this printer is used to print reports from the Blood Hematology machine. The operating system used is Windows XP SP2 32bit because the Hematology Blood application program is run with the operating system. When I click Setup, the message box "HP-DQEX5.exe - Entry Point Not Found" appears with the details "The GetLogicalProcessorInformation procedure entry could not be located in the KERNEL32.dll dynamic link library". After a while the computer "Blue Screen".
What I have tried to do is:
1. Uninstall the old printer driver and the registry, try again and the same message box appears and "Blue Screen",
2. Install Net Framework 2.0, try again and the same message box appears and "Blue Screen",
3. Install Net Framework 3.5, try again and the same message box appears and "Blue Screen",
4. Try with another computer that is reinstalled into Windows XP SP2:
a. Click Setup and the same message box appears but not "Blue Screen", but the computer immediately restarts,
b. Install the basic HP Color LaserJet Pro M154a driver for Windows XP 32bit, and the same message box still appears but not "Blue Screen", but the computer immediately restarts,
c. Install Net Framework 3.5 and Windows Installer 3.1, try again and the same message box appears but not "Blue Screen", but the computer immediately restarts.

But strangely, I tried to install the driver with another type of printer, the HP Color LaserJet Pro M252n and it worked. Though the datasheet of the two printers above mentioned that the Operating System is minimal is Windows XP SP3, but why the HP Color LaserJet Pro M154a printer driver was not successfully installed.

Please help.

You may try connecting a USB to your computer and then manually update it and select the installation CD path from within the device manager and check if it may somehow detect your printer and allow some basic printing, it may work or not but worth trying.

Thanks for the explanation.
For the manual driver install method by connecting USB directly to the computer and selecting the CD path I have done, this also did not work.
I checked Device Manager to see other devices related to the printer that were not successfully installed, from which I checked one by one the Hardware ID and Compatible Id and downloaded it on the internet, all were successfully installed, but no HP Color LaserJet M153-M154 printer was installed in the Devices and Printers list.

Are there other handling instructions?

I personally cannot think of any other steps than updating your operating system to service pack 3 so you will be able to successfully install the printer drivers. This is required for a successful plug and play recognition.

v.1.75 portable - windows xp 32 SP3 - I get the following message which is : The procedure entry point GetLogicalProcessorInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll
Previous versions until 1.74 worked fine.
XnConvert does not support XP anymore?
Greetings

yep.. i just tested the x32Bit version, it works very well on Win7/64. Great software, i love the huge list of supported formats. Not many image software can handle .ico, or convert to .ico, this can. Definitely a keeper!

Great Addition, i wish the x64Bit version worked.
