Rosters have been updated and reports are attached to this e-mail (in the rosters.zip file), all teams have a full roster of 50 now. Please review the roster for your team to be sure that your draftees, signings from free agency and players that you traded for are all there. If something is missing please let me know and I will look into it. Since we are in the offseason, if you would like to move a LOW-eligible player (age 26 or younger) from Active/AAA into LOW please let me know along with who in LOW would be moving up to Active/AAA.
It is now time for Spring Training. As in the past, please no more free agent signings and only same number of player for same number of player trades (ie. 1 player for 1 player, 2 for 2, 3 for 3, etc.) until after Spring training/start of the new season. You can still trade $ for picks or picks for picks or include $ and/or picks in a deal, but if players are involved the number of players leaving a team must equal the number of players coming to the team and teams need to remember to maintain a total of 10 players in their LOW.
OK, on to Spring Training. For you new owners the game does a pretty decent job of ST but for younger players you can help them along at a faster pace if you want. Game sets a minimum percentage for each player so they will train and not lose any ratings points. For the Position players there is an extra 15% that can be allocated by 5% increments to CH (contact), PH (power), SP (speed), AS (arm strength) and FA (fielding ability). So as an example, a position player may get an extra 5% for contact and 10% for power (to total the extra 15%).
Pitchers extra percentages are determined by the number of pitches that the pitcher has (as an example, a pitcher that has ratings for FB and CB only would have 2 pitches). Each pitch is allocated 10% so if a pitcher has only two pitches to train he has an extra 25% to allocate, an extra 15% for 3 pitches and an extra 5% for 4 pitches. Pitchers extra percentages can be allocated by 5% increments to AS, CO, EN, HR, FA and their pitches (FB, CB, CU, SI, SL, SC, KN).
You can send in allocations for all your players or just a few. The computer does a fine job of managing Spring training as well, so you can also elect to have the computer
manage your Spring training.
If you want to put in your own ST allocations, please do so in the following format:
For position players:
2B John Smith
CH +5
PH +10
For pitchers:
P Jack Doe
CO +5
FB +10
CB +10
If you could organize your Spring training allocations by position (ie. pitchers together, 1B together, SS together, etc.) then alphabetically by last name it would be appreciated.
For your reference, the attached ST2052.zip file contains an excel file with the actuals/pots organized by team.
The deadline for getting Spring training allocations to me will be Sunday (4/23) by 3 pm EST. Of course the sooner I get them in the sooner that Spring training can be run and the sooner we can start the season.
Thanks all,
Chris
