VoiceDream app for iPhone is nice in combination with the free PC software Calibre. Calibre can be used for getting past the DRM text lock and then something like Dropbox can be used to bridge the content pass of unlocked ebook text between Calibre and the nice iPhone app Voice Dream.

I just realized I had left the comments up from the original version of this article which followed a different method. As far as I know, this new method does not work with Logos. I would look into some of the text-to-speech functionality in Android to see if you can get it to read the Logos text for you.

Is it also supposed to work if you have Kindle on the IPad? Because I do not seem to be able to get it working, or do you have to have a separate Kindle device? i do not have the kind of phone that will use this method.

The kindle books is not avaible in the app without amazon echo or other device :( is not that simple like how you explain. If you have a solution to have kindle avaible in alexa app withouth device, please let me know

I can confirm that alexa app is not showing kindle books. In fact, I tried alexa.amazon.com to check and if you choose to stream kindle to an app, it will tell you that kindle streaming is not available for this device. Apparently amazon decides that it can make more money selling echos so they no longer let you stream kindle books to the app on your phone. I used to listen to my kindle books in my car from the phone and now I am not able to anymore.

This happens sometimes for me as well for many books while Alexa narrates, so probably not select to it. I wish I could find out what causes this issue, sometimes it occurs frequently in short bursts and sometimes nothing happens at all. IDK. );

I want to send books that I have saved on Dropbox to my Kindle and I read online that you can do this automatically if you set up Kindlebox on Dropbox - can;t find Kinbdlebox anywahere on my Dropbox app on my laptop.

This is normal - you won't be able to find this within our desktop application as it doesn't exist. For more context now, this Kindlebox you mentioned is actually a third party app - you can find more using a simple google search.

Thanks for your reply - I was trying to sync my Dropbox with my Kindle device and I found on Google that I could do this automatically by authorising Kindlebox on both Amazon and Dropbox - however, when I open Kindlebox it asks me to sign in with Dropbox, and when I try to do so then it tells me that the app has been disabled.

Thanks for keeping me in the loop @Sdhirst6 - I appreciate it and sorry to hear that. I guess this won't be possible due to its limited storage (I've did a little research and I see that it comes with 2 GB at the moment) and due to the restrictions Amazon has set.

FYI, when someone refers to "my Kindle", they invariably mean an Amazon E Ink device designed to read books, not the so-called "Kindle Fire", which is a totally different device (an inferior tablet that Amazon's marketing department slapped the Kindle name on, which I'm sure didn't please the Kindle product people).

All of a sudden I am missing all my book purchases in my Kindle app on my iPad. I've tried removing the app and readding it, but still everything is missing. I checked in my Amazon account and all the books are still there...how do I get them back on my iPad? It seemed to happen at the same time Kindle updated their app and I downloaded the new software update for my iPad. Could there be a connection?

Did you tap on Cloud at the bottom to see all of the books that are in the cloud? After you see the books in the cloud, tap on one of them to download it.did you try going to Amazon.com, sign into your account, tap on Your Account at the top and from the drop down menu, tap on Manage your Content and Devices. That will take to a list of all of your purchased books. Tap on the Select square, then tap on Deliver and select the device on which you want to download the selected book.

This is exactly what I did...I had Amazon called me back (as a side note, that works very slick! You type in your number and indicate for them to call you right away...and they did! I'm very impressed). The problem has been solved. I knew all my book purchases were still under my account at Amazon, because I saw them there. For some unexplained reason, my Kindle app on my iPad was wrong. I was never able to log in again until I actually removed my account on my Kindle and logged back in. They didn't know how this happened since I never changed anything in my Kindle app.

Yes, I already went to Amazon.com and tried downloading one of the books, still didn't show up on my iPad. I was then wondering if I should remove all my devices and try adding them again as new ones. But I'm afraid to try that!

All my books show up in Amazon.com, but not on my iPad. This is something that just happened suddenly, I didn't change anything, except download the update for Kindle and the new Apple software for my iPad. I wasn't sure if there could be a connection.

You cannot lose purchased books in Amazon.com. They are always available to download again once you have purchased them. If you feel safer about it, wait until you here from Amazon support before you do anything else.

There is something else that you can try that will not hurt anything or cause you to lose anything either. Close the Kindle app, and reset the iPad. Maybe refreshing the app will let the books download again.

In order to close apps, you have to drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the Kindle app, and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.

In order to reset the iPad. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen after which time you can release the buttons and let the iPad start up.

When you look at your account & choose to send a book to the device make sure the correct device is listed in the send to box, if it still doesn't arrive & you have stable wifi then the iPad may be registered to a different account.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to the iPhone 7, except the Kindle app was only selectively showing about 7 of the 26 books I had purchased. If I went to search for a missing title in the book browser, it would let me download that individual book, but no amount of refreshing/syncing would bring back the full list. The solution was to go under Settings>Registration and "Deregister this Kindle". I then restarted the app and logged back in with my Amazon account. Problem solved.

Last week, my wife and I took a much-needed break in Aruba, an independent island nation just a dozen degrees north of the equator. I packed all my favorite tech gear for the trip, including my aging Amazon Kindle. My wife took her brand new Kindle Paperwhite, the one with the lovely 6.8-inch display and one of our best ereaders.

We also both took our iPhones (my iPhone 14 Pro and her iPhone 13) but kept them in airplane mode and turned off cellular roaming to avoid any steep out-of-the-country services charges, though I later learned that may not have been entirely necessary.

I was about halfway through a book and my wife was probably 75% done with hers. With six days of beach reading ahead of us, we started talking about how quickly we might plow through these tomes and need another book.

As I plowed through the remainder of the gripping The World Played Chess by Robert Dugoni, I decided to find my next beach read. I found a book on Libby, checked it out from my library, and then followed the process that takes you through the Amazon store where you send your checked-out book to your Kindle device of choice.

We then navigated to the books my wife had queued up for the remainder of our trip and she tapped the Kindle screen to open one of them. Her Kindle informed her she would need to exit Airplane Mode to download the book. Lesson: Queueing is not the same as downloading.

Next, we did what any two rational beach readers would do, we ran back to our beach chairs, grabbed our Kindles, and made a beeline back to the resort where we casually parked ourselves just outside but near enough to get the Wi-Fi signal. Knowing this might be our only chance, my wife downloaded all her queued books, and I found Stephen King's Button Box trilogy on Libby (through my phone) and downloaded all three books to my Kindle.

Start reading, listening or watching instantly with e-books, audiobooks, e-magazines, and streaming movies. Most titles are available online with just an internet connection and a library card. An e-reader app is required for downloading to your personal device.
