Fromthe past day, I'm getting this new error asking to enter some username and password for the proxy when I'm trying to use a VPN extension inside chrome (Zenmate VPN, SetupVPN) and even do a small google search.
My issue is that if I miss company-proxy prompt like this by e.g. dismissing it my mistake - I need to restart my PC (ubuntu) in order to trigger this dialog and be able to access the site.Anyone knows how to actually (re-)trigger this dialog?
Not sure about removing them in an automated way, as there are some keys and values that will vary per machine and/or per user. It could be done remotely, assuming you have remote access to the hard drive and registry. A Google search for manually remove chrome extension should get you what you need. One quick example is -to-manually-uninstall-a-globally-installed-chrome-extension/ . One caveat here is that if the user is synchronizing their Chrome profile, all your work will be undone next time they launch Chrome.
I would recommend implementing GPO, or at least registry edits, to manage extensions. If you have a particular extension or set of extensions that you want to get rid of, you can blacklist them. Detailed information on that is at Set Chrome app and extension policies (Windows) - Chrome Enterprise and Education Help .
