Hello

I am new to Harbour. Have 2+ decades of dbase etc,...experience.

Thanks to Alain I could successfully start developing in my standard environment. Ubuntu 14.04, Harbour 3.2.0 and HwGUI.

I could not install the same in a Windows 10 machine. Got src.zip, unzipped and
 hbmk2 hwgui.hbp hbxml.hbp hwgdebug.hbp procmisc.hbp
did not went through.

But hwg got installed on a single sub folder. And it compiles well.

So far I am only creating a development and porting environment. I could not decide if I need to stick to hwgui or hmg.

Is it like hmg is mainly for Windows and not for linux? and
Is hwgui not suitable for Windows compiling?

Please advise.

Thanks

Natarajan

I don't use Windows no more since about 11 years, but I suppose that
there is no problem to build with hwgui under Windows.

Personnaly, I don't use hbp files, even I know it's possible, but I
thnik you make a mistake using more than one hbp file with hbmk2.

I think you ougth to mix the three files in one, and it probably will
works. But I think Windows users can help you more than I do.

I think it's better to use hwgui as tou seem to build for Linux and
Windows. Except for minor things, the code is the same for Linux and
Windows, what it won't be if you use hwgui and hwg.

A+
