Hi All:

   Harbour 3.2 has been updated to version R(2003271400) on Mar 28th (see below), and can be downloaded from whosaway.com

   32-bit Builds are available for MinGW 8.1.0, VC 2017, and BCC 7.4.0

   The builds above are based on MINGW 9.3.0  -- the latest stable offering.

   I thank Santo Venezia from Italy for this !

   You can also download the 32-bit MinGW 9.3.0 compiler from whosaway.com too.

   I'm still working on the 64-bit MinGW 9.3.0 stuff. More later ...

Hi Massimo:

   Also, I just tried to send an email to your recorded email, and it was rejected.

   So, I await your response.

Hi David:
.
<rant>
   Yes, its to protect me from a swarm of Download attacks. If I get attacked, I'm able to deny future access by using the Apache Command "Deny From nnn.nnn."  statement.  I also use it to determine from which country my users are accessing from.

   In addition, some of you use *automated* methods of downloading -- where you click on all or most of the files, and walkaway !.  Then these automation tools start many simultaneous downloads on each file for many files, and *swamp* my server with requests. A thoughtless action !  So, I 'Deny from nnn.nnn.' and refuse access to that user until he corrects his action, and just downloads one file at a time -- manually.

   When I first started this many years ago, most of my attacks were from our own harbour and xharbour users who were somehow incensed that I would deign to provide a separate repository to compete with the standard/formal  one. However, my site provides a variety of other useful tools also. These attacks have fallen off lately, but still occur at times. And I have to have some protective measures.

   Unfortunately, that attitude is still somewhat prevalent, and I still get attacked by some of our own Harbour language users.  I don't have the computing power available to ignore this.

   I have about 5-10 clients who download from my site, then they themselves becomes 'servers' for *their* clients.

   Anyway, the standard download site is still available to you, with my site as a backup if you wish.

</rant>

Hi Mel,

An interesting weeding out, with the IP addresses.

What about a person (also a hb user) with a cell phone used as my
internet connection? Would my different/virtual IP addresses (when I reboot)
pose a problem with me downloading an updated version?

That could also apply to anyone that shuts down their internet connection
at night.

IP's addresses are really not that constant for all.

Hi Mike:

   I have users who attack thru 'proxies' as follows:

   But, first, they have to get the *actual* download repository of my site -- which is, of course, *not* .../files/ .
   And, I change the real repository very frequently, when I'm under attack (btw, got attacked from a government building in Beijing last week -- where the started simultaneous downloads of my biggest files).

  So, the bad guys, (or those who simply want to use my site for sharpening their skills as hackers) innocently register for downloads, *then* use 'proxy' sites for their attacks.

   But, I have methods for countering that too.

   Anyway ...
-Mel
