if you are using a NAS for accessing your DBFs can you please share your experience? maker, model, pros and cons...expecially for samba oplocks configuration...

is anybody using a NAS as a iSCSI target?

Hello Francesco,

I use the following:

1. Synology DS713+/DS218+ - All of my customers use this product for housing their application database for many years. DSM, the OS, allows for oplocks to be turned on or off. I employ LetoDBf for the larger installations and standard Samba shares for the others. DS218+ is a better performing version.

2. OpenMediaVault for general business documentation like product artwork, specifications and reports. Oplocks can be adjusted by specifying additional Samba parameters. 

Data backups are managed using a product known as Backup Maker.
