Do not reply in the group. Professional contacts for companies only.
For all environments: Harbour, xHarbour, console, Fivewin, Minigui, HMG, ooHg

Still using .bat files or an outdated editor? Too many workarounds? Setting up the environment is a hassle that frustrates many software owners who can't get the help they need.

Migrate from hbIDE, Notepad++, xMate, xDev or any other editor to VS Code.
  • Keep your compilers and all third-party LIBs
  • No specific extensions/plugins required
  • Shortcut keys, incremental compilation, full build, auto run
  • Use project files, a modern and versatile resource
  • Standalone compilation (with or without the IDE)

More than just boosting your productivity with (x)Harbour, you'll use a single editor for other environments (PHP, JS, Python, etc.).

Request a quote for your setup. Please contact us via this email.

All solutions and services include post-delivery support.

Eric, you are completely wrong. It has nothing to do with what I posted.
Don't mix things up, it's not smart. Post separately, and you've already posted this a few times.

Some companies want something better, more specific, or more complex, which only a specialized professional can offer.

Marking a message as "Do not reply in the group. Professional contacts for companies only" clearly indicates that you are attempting to use this public forum solely as an advertising tool. Furthermore, you should use a real name rather than an anonymous pseudonym like "Hurricane" paired with a fancy logo.
My previous message made complete sense because you explicitly mentioned, "Migrate from hbIDE, Notepad++, xMate, xDev or any other editor to VS Code," and the articles I referenced are specifically about using VS Code.
I will not tolerate condescending remarks like "you are completely wrong" or "it's not smart." Most forum members are highly capable of learning and mastering tools like VS Code. We are specialized professionals; Harbour is not a common programming language, and our presence here reflects our technical expertise.

I must agree with Eric.  I do not believe this forum should be used to advertise a private company.

I must also point out that 'Hurricane' on 1 June posted the following heading in this forum, (quote);

[harbour-users] ✅ Enhanced DBU for Windows 32/64 bits - Free 🚀

The problem was I could not find anywhere on that link any further information. There was no link for any download that I could find as suggested by Hurricane, and I was not the only one taken in by this scam. Another person also posted at the time that he/she could not find any download as suggested by Hurricane.

I suggest that Hurricane does the right thing and put up a working link as he/she suggested back then, or he/she should be blocked from this forum which I understand is for genuine users and not for people advertising scams.

Geoffrey

I fully agree with Eric.
To abuse of this group for promoting commercial aims is completely wrong and thus not smart.

Buenos días a todos.
Totalmente de acuerdo con Eric
Hurricane, este no es el lugar para este tipo de posteos que haces.

Gracias Eric por el trabajo que haces y compartes.

I agree with and support Mr. Eric Lendvai. I believe Mr. Geoffrey Keenan's proposition is correct.

My migration to VS Code was very easy using Eric's work. Thank you for that.

People who join groups (same for WhatsApp, Telegram, etc) with the sole purpose of self-promotion end up generating spam, which distorts the original purpose of the space and annoys other members.

Why hasn't this hurricane post not been removed by the forum's admin?
Not only is this post disregarding the rules of the forum, but the poster responds to CORRECT criticism/opinion  in a pompous and disrespectful manner. Also, in contradiction of the forum rules.
This and any Hurricane posts should be removed. What do other members think?
Plus on other forums you can flag posts for being offensive, being commercial etc. But I cannot see any such feature here.

Hi all

I think everyone should calm down, it's low traffic, it's not like he
mortally insulted anyone and he has contributed to the group over quite
a few years and commercial posts are not banned.

Alex

I agree with Eric.
This individual is also named Eric (coincidentally), and he is Brazilian.
Before he started using the pseudonym "Hurricane", he used to call himself "Eric Developer", and then just "Developer". Now it is "Hurricane".
I remember seeing his picture only once, and he has a challenging personality coupled with poor communication skills.
His responses can sometimes be unkind, but I believe this is partly due to his difficulties with writing and understanding English accurately.
I tried to collaborate with him in the past, but he was difficult to work with (never worked out...).
I really think he has a lot to contribute, but he seems desperate to make money and is reluctant to share his knowledge with others unless you offer him money.
For a project like Harbour, this is not ideal, and I think he could change his attitude.
My first suggestion to you, Eric, is to use your real name and a nice picture. Don't be afraid! I'm probably uglier than you! =)
Then make things very clear: what is commercial, what is advertising, what is open (really open), etc.
Contribute more to the community — you have so much to offer!
And don't take things personally — you've threatened me more than once in the past!
I am not here to fight, but to share knowledge, and I must admit that I am learning more than I am contributing to this amazing group!
Thank you for your attention.
