The next month of May 2019 will come into force a European law by which the files with personal information must be encrypted. Using the DBI_PASSWORD clause I have seen that dbfs containing memos fields are not encrypted. Is there any timeline to solve this issue, which also allows the encryption of memo fields?

Of course. I already imagined there would be more requirements, but they have nothing to do with Harbour. The requirement that I have commented if it has to do, and much, with Harbour.

Thank you.

PD. is you using dbf encrypted ?

Thanks for the link. The conclusion is that in xHarbour, developers had yet to enable a Set function to enable encrypting dbfs with memos, and so the developer could choose between encryption and compatibility. It only says that.

To this day neither xHarbour nor Harbour support encryption of dbfs with memos.

Thks.

You make a few simple changes to the source, add the c file to you app, and you are good to go.

you can implement encryption functions for memo fields, but need to decrypt before any memo read, and encrypt before any memo write. secured hash in github shows sample function tools to encrypt, decrypt and hashing. i made it using harbour 3.0. but harbour is slow for big strings.
