Boxsize has alot to do with mechanical power handling. If you are going to be pushing your woofer beyond it's rated RMS power you need to be very mindful of this fact and put the woofer in no larger than the minimum suggested enclosure for music program.

We design our woofers for very small enclosures and power ratings are there for a reason -- you can continue to push a driver like the SA-8 beyond RMS power and it will not be stressed whatsoever thermally by the time you can cause mechanical issues. The motor, especially on the SA-8, is VERY strong -- being an 8" driver there is limited mechanical throw available. The driver retains high motor force all the way up to the point where you can start breaking it.

You may ALSO need a subsonic filter depending on box tuning. The rated RMS power is 400 watts RMS -- if you push past that you are voiding warranty coverage. We are bringing in re-cone parts and they can be fixed, though, for those of you who like to push things. If you have any doubts about your ability to monitor your listening habits just stick to the 0.60 recommendation.

To re-iterate... they are not fragile. I have ton ALOT of testing on them with enormous amounts of power -- the above considers full bandwidth music program that can drop to very low frequencies and is a safe suggestion.

What would you recommend tuning the box to? I want clean lows - I care more about SQ than SPL. Obviously an 8" woofer isn't going to be a low end monster but I expected a lot more after reading everyones reviews and seeing all the videos.

I know it is really tough to get a decent port size for one subwoofer in .6 cubic feet net because I ended up building a super skinny port to have my wife's True Bass Ultra 8 tuned to 32 Hz. In her case it was not so bad to go with a .75" wide x 8.5" high x 18" long port since the sub is in the trunk of her car. In my case, I'd likely hear the port noise because I am trying to pull off a sealed, direct fire design with the SA-8s that I ordered.

Prisma is a bundle of technologies that provide the broadest spectrum of network music player features and functionality. Essentially a streamer for everyone and anywhere, in the household to explore, discover, and share the deeply satisfying experience of high-performance music playback.

The need to amplify the sometimes vanishingly low signal of the best phono cartridges demands a truly musical phono preamplifier that is as quiet as it is linear, and Primare provides two excellent options up to the task.

Combine the nearly unlimited power available with our UFPD 2 amplifier technology with simple, ultra-short signal paths and you have astonishingly high current output capabilities for remarkable ease, control, and stability when driving even the most difficult speaker load.

Additional convenience features include auto-sense turn-on from standby and auto standby after an absence of input signal for twenty minutes which can be turned off allowing the A35.8 to remain on indefinitely if preferred.

The ingenious design of the A35.8 circuit layout provides the most direct delivery and even distribution of power from the power supply to the amp modules tucked into heatsinks that isolate them from any power supply noise. In turn, this innovative construction isolates the input and output stage from any noise the amp modules might produce. Input and output signals are delivered to and from the amp module through an uninterrupted ribbon of circuit board threaded through a channel in the heat sinks for the shortest possible signal path.

The bridging capabilities of the A35.8 allow it to be used in a variety of system configurations, with or without the addition of a stereo amplifier, to suit most multi-channel system requirements. A few examples:

Not only is the A35.8 is the most powerful amplifier Primare has built, but it is also the most flexible, designed to serve the needs of virtually any high-performance two and multi-channel system through its ability for each pair of its eight channels to be bridged to mono for an incredible level of power delivery, up to 1500 watts in total.

The foundation of the A35.8 is the largest power supply Primare has ever designed, incorporating APFC and soft clipping circuitry, implemented to ensure stable performance up to the very limits of its capabilities. Dual connecting cables from the power supply mean that each group of four amplifier modules are provided with more direct and consistent power delivery by the shortest power path.

RCA and XLR balanced input options are offered for each of the eight channels and bridging capabilities for each pair of channels, with maximum power output of 1500 watts, providing the capability of delivering 185 watts at 1KHz of peak power per channel, all channels driven.

Adds an A35.2 stereo amplifier for the Front Left and Right speakers, while using one bridged pair of outputs from the A35.8 for Centre, and the remaining outputs from the A35.8 for Surround Left and Right, Front Height Left and Right, and Rear Height Left and Right speakers.

Adds an A35.2 stereo amplifier for the Front Left and Right speakers, while using one bridged pair of outputs from the A35.8 for Centre, and the remaining outputs from the A35.8 for Surround Left and Right, Rear Surround Left and Right, and Height Left and Right speakers.

Adds three bridged A35.2 amplifiers for Front Left, Right, and Centre speakers, while the A35.8 provides the Surround Left and Right, Rear Surround Left and Right, and Front and Rear Left and Right Height speakers.

Uses two A35.8 amplifiers, with bridged pairs of outputs for the Front Left and Right speakers, and the remaining 11 outputs for the Centre speaker, Front Left and Right Height speakers, Surround Left and Right speakers, Middle Left and Right Height speakers, Rear Surround Left and Right speakers, Rear Left and Right Height speakers, and Top speaker.

Up to this point, the topic of multi-channel terminal mares had not particularly appealed to me. Until now. The Primare 35.8 convinced me with its power, sound, and unbelievable versatility. Design and workmanship are also at the top level.

Incidentally, the Primare A35.8 is also excellent for enjoying music. High-fidelity sound characteristics paired with seemingly unlimited power reserves also delight demanding listeners. If you bridge all four channel pairs, the eight-channel power amplifier is also ideal for driving a stereo system in bi-amping mode. With a whopping 1.5 kW total output! The A35.8 is therefore recommended not only for use in the home cinema, but also for the sophisticated stereo listening room.

PRE35 DAC DM36 combines the DM36 digital to analog converter stage with the PRE35 balanced stereo preamplifier, featuring fully balanced analog preamplification circuitry, and modular construction allowing for installation of the SM35 Prisma network player module at any time.

PRE35 Prisma combines the DM36 digital to analog conversion and SM35 Prisma network player modules within the PRE35 fully balanced preamplifier platform, to create an extraordinarily versatile system control centre.

PRE35 modular preamplifier features dual XLR inputs and outputs, fully balanced analog preamplification circuitry, and modular construction allowing for sophisticated DAC and Prisma network modules to be added to the all analog preamplifier at any time.

Updated versions of those cars are due later this year, and while they will still come with a V-8, the engine will be teamed with a plug-in hybrid system. Bentley on Wednesday showed its new electrified V-8, which it calls the Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain.

The new Edition 8 cars are available exclusively in North America, as Bentley has already dropped the standalone V-8 from the Continental GT, Continental GT Convertible, and Flying Spur in most markets.

Bentley said it has fitted the Edition 8 cars as standard with some of the most popular options from the Mulliner personalization department, like black accents instead of the traditional chrome, self-leveling badges for the 22-inch wheels, and comfort-specification seats with a palm-fluting pattern.

The new Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain also serves as the replacement for Bentley's venerable W-12 engine, production of which ends this summer. To mark the W-12's run, Bentley launched the limited-edition Batur and Batur Convertible models.

The Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain will deliver more than 740 hp, or more than the highest power rating for the W-12. It's possible that Bentley will also rely on its current V-6 plug-in hybrid powertrain already offered in the Bentayga Hybrid and Flying Spur Hybrid to deliver a lower output in the updated Continental GT and Continental GT Convertible comparable to the outgoing V-8's performance. The V-6 plug-in hybrid powertrain is good for 536 hp, which is only a few horsepower shy of what the standalone V-8 delivers.
