I had a long standing lunch date today at my favourite Indian
restaurant and I had Masala Dosa.

Also, yesterday I ate some bread AND some chocolate but I know these
things are allowed in moderation so I don't feel too bad about it.

Any one else have confessions to make or am I the only sinner?!

Don't feel too bad! On Friday night, I had out of town guests
visiting. We went out to dinner in Little Italy (I'm in NYC), and I
ate a giant plate of pasta primavera with garlic and oil and an
incredible amount of the restaurant's homemade bread. It was
delicious, but my belly sure wasn't pleased later!

Oh well, back on the wagon today!

I went off the challenge for the weekend too. I plan to start string
today again.

We had dinner plans last night and the hostess made veggie fajitas; although I did forgo the tortilla, I learned after I'd eaten everything that the rice was made from white rice and not brown. Oops. I also had 3 twizzlers at Iron Man 2, but paid for it handsomely afterward -- my stomach was really upset!

I hosted vegan brunch for mothers day and had pumpkin waffles, breakfast sausage, whipped tofu cream, and pear crisp with ice cream for dessert... Complete challenge failure. Everything was whole grain, vegan, low-fat and homemade... So I'm trying to justify it that way? Kinda? And it was for my mommy :)

I guess if we fall off the horse, just gotta get right back on and cook up a big batch of greens and brown rice!

there are no failures just days that are better than others. every day that we "make it" -- every day that we're more wholesome is a step in the right direction... one whole day is better than no whole days; if we 'fell off the wagon this weekend' then we did -- but today is a new day. and this week is a new week.... i love that cheesy saying "shoot for the moon, even if you miss you're still among the stars."

Do twizzlers count as food? (& why are they so tasty?)

I stopped by a friend’s house for a cocktail this weekend and imbibed in some non-HH30 alcohol, but did forgo the non-HH30 mixers.

Craving baked goods, tofu and pasta big time today. Going to make a big pot of brown rice now….

They have wheat in them so would they count as a grain?

I had dinner plans with a girlfriend who just went through a bad breakup. In order to make the restaurant more challenge friendly, I suggested Stir Crazy (make your own stir fry place) They sautee in oil, which I knew going in. Also, I tried to pick the least processed sauce...ginger and garlic.  I did forego the wine and bread basket though! So I considered it worth it to be there to support a friend.

Going to Vegas this week for my SIL's wedding...thankfully my grandparents live there, so I am going to TRY and make most of my food at their house for the week.  We'll see how it goes.  But there is a possibility I may fall off the wagon a couple of times...fingers crossed :-)

On the plus side...made a yummy bulgur and potato pilaf for lunch and had brown rice and eggs for breakfast.

Forgot to say that I did have some ice cream for Mother's Day and a breakfast burrito from my lovely kiddos, so I couldn't turn that down right? :-P
