If it's actually raw (such as Madhava agave); it's fine. The problem
is not all agaves are raw and even some agaves that say they are "raw"
are not actually raw. Though, if you do need a little sweetener to add
to something to make it palatable, that's fine.

The goal is not to make this challenge so extreme it becomes
impossible; Do try your absolute very best to eat whole and nix all
processed foods, but if you need a little mustard to get your greens
down, or a pinch of salt to making something palatable, or a dab of
agave to make your oats less... oaty, do it.. but remember less is
more with these things. :)

This rules out chocolate, doesn't it? :-(

Actually, I think that we should allow organic vegan dark chocolate thats 60% or more cocoa to be eaten in moderation. It's not a whole food, but I've read enough literature to believe that dark chocolate has benefits. Plus I know many women, like myself, will likely need/want/crave it at some time during the 30 days! ;)

Carob would also be suitable.

Soaking raisins or prunes in water, makes the water very sweet -- this
is great for cooking liquid (makes oatmeal and rice sweeter naturally)
and to add to drinks that need sweetening, like tea.
