Hello everyone,
We want to call your attention to an exciting new organization called Music for Democracy -- a grassroots coalition of professional musicians, fans, and politicians who believe that America needs a new kind of politics to move forward toward a more peaceful, economically robust, and environmentally sustainable future.
As a political action committee registered with the Federal Election Commission, MFD supports candidates for office and facilitates public awareness campaigns that advance the agenda of progressive musicians, their fans, and the music community at large, connecting both well-known musicians and young upstart bands with a nationwide network of peers and fans who are passionately engaged in the electoral process and committed to change in Washington.

Bonnie "Prince" Billy), and David Crosby, and to preview our strategy for creating a new national dialogue about politics through the medium of music while bringing a new generation of voters to the polls on Election Day. The progressive goals that MFD supports include: ending the war in Iraq, sustainable energy independence, protection of the rights and liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, Net neutrality, economic equality without regard for race, gender, sexual orientation, and religion, and solidarity with struggles for freedom and dignity worldwide.
