I am now using a VM to set up a HAPI FHIR server, but I have encountered two system crashes without warning during this period, and I must restart the VM to use it again. Is it because the specifications of the VM are not enough? Is there a defined system specification to use HAPI FHIR server?

My VM’s size:

  • 4GB RAM
  • 2 CPU
  • 100 GB Disk

thanks a lot for helping

Those specs might or might not be enough, depending on lots of factors including how much load you are putting on the server, whether the VM also hosts the database, how much data you're storing, how big your resources are, what your JVM memory settings are (-Xmx), etc.

Your best bet is to look at the logs and try to figure out what caused the crash. If you see OutOfMemoryExceptions, that's a likely cause.
