Dear friends,
We're pleased to invite you to a five-course dinner on Tuesday, June 23rd called "Paris of the East," a playful nod to Shanghai in the decadent and Western-influenced 1940s. Joining us for the evening will be Jen Lee of the family-owned organic vegetable farm,
Sang Lee Farms, and Long Island neighbor Peggy Lauber of
Wolffer Estate Vineyard. The meal will feature naturally raised duck from
D'Artagnan in addition to Sang Lee produce and Wolffer Estate wines. This is our second sit-down dinner for the Hapa Kitchen, and we are delighted that local farmers/purveyors can meet and eat with us again.
Menu:
Five-spice duck confit turnovers with Fred's Hot Pepper Jelly
Duck consomme "exploding" ravioli/dumplings with chilled cucumber soup
Seared duck breast with "drunken" butter sauce and baby bok choy
"Sang Lee" spring salad with crisped duck skin and plum vinaigrette
Red bean creme brulee
Drinks and canapes will begin at 7pm. The dinner will cost $65 per person and include wine. It will be held in a residence in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, easily accessible by the 4, 5, 2, 3, Q, N, R, B, D and G trains.
To reserve your seat, please reply to
con...@hapakitchen.com with "RSVP" in the subject line. Please let us know the number of guests in your party, and whether you have any dietary restrictions. A confirmation email with location and directions will follow. Seats are limited. We look forward to serving (and meeting) you!
