HelloI just bought the UE300 USB 3.0 Gigabit Adapter but I have some issues with it. The first time I plugged it in the USB 3.0 port it was working but the connection speed was very low and unstable (5 Mbs down/1 Mbs up/lost packets/very high jitter) while the speed at the router is 160 Mbs down/15 Mbs up. I tried to plugged it in the USB 2.0 port with all the other devices unplugged from the other USB ports but nothing changed. I was reading on the forum here other users having issues, so I tried everything explained: updated network card drivers, Realtek USB drivers, I did the network factory reset, I tried different Ethernet cables. Now even worse, the adapter is not working anymore at all, as soon as I plug it in while checking in the network settings it keeps showing "Identification pending" and then "Unknown network" and even after starting the Windows network diagnosis it shows "IP configuration non valid". The only way to make it working is plugging the laptop with the adapter directly to the router Ethernet port, so this way it's working at full speed.

yeah I already installed the latest driver, tried other USB ports, different cables and also on my older laptop but nothing changed. When I plug the adapter the LED is on just for a second (with "Verification pending" in network settings) but then turns off immediately, then again after like 30 seconds the same thing; in the end after multiple times doing this the LED stays on with "Verification pending" for like a minute in network settings but then it goes on "Unknown network". The thing is that before doing all these checks, even without updating the adapter drivers, some days ago I tried to plug the laptop with the adapter directly to the router Ethernet port and it worked immediately without any issue.

Another thing I don't understand is how it is possible that the first time I plugged the TP-Link adapter it was detected and I was correctly connected to the network (even though with speed issues and unstable packets transfer) without verification issues like I'm having now, even after uninstalling drivers and device.

Here you can see a screenshot with the information requested. I'm also attaching a picture of the Ethernet Network Troubleshooter that shows the network doesn't have a valid IP configuration and also that the cable could be damaged, but that's not possible because I tried multiple cables, even connecting my old laptop to the ethernet outlet without the TP-Link adapter (it has its own output) and it's working so it can't be the cable.

I too had used the solution as posted earlier by Jeremy31 to get the wifi adapter working on Ubuntu 18.04. I then reapplied that "Jeremy31 solution" each time the Ubuntu kernel was updated to get the wifi adapter reworking again. That methodology worked fine up through all kernel upgrades until I recently upgraded my laptop (Lenovo G500S) to Ubuntu 19.10. With the "Jeremy31 solution" no longer working for me, I have googled as best I can, but have been woefully unsuccessful in finding an alternative solution that will allow me to re-employ my wifi adapter in 19.10.

I tried to comment on chili555's answer, but I don't have enough reputation. So here is the comment: -ng/rtl8812au.git does not contain the file dkms-install.sh. But the repository -1.git does have this file (I tried that solution first after reading it here, but it didn't work for me).

So I copied the two files dkms-install.sh and dkms-remove.sh into rtl8812au directory, ran dkms-remove.sh first and then dkms-install.sh.They worked perfectly. After that, I ran the modprobe command from above, and my adapter started working

I own HP Pavilion dv6-1330ev Notebook Pc. The serial number of this notebook is CNF9414LZN. The model of my wireless adapter is Intel (R) WiFi Link 1000 BGN. I have windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Suddenly, the wireless network adapter stopped working and says "Not Connected - No connections are available" while there are many neighboring wireless connections available including my home wireless router which is close to it and my iPhone is currently connected to it. The wireless adapter is on. I have tried many things but still didn't solve the problem. I disabled and enabled the adapter many times from device manager and from network and sharing center. I uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter driver many times using the "scan for hardware changes" option in device manager and downloaded the latest driver version from HP website. I updated the BIOS from HP website to the latest version which was released in 2011. I updated the driver from device manager and it said I am running the latest version. I run Windows troubleshooter and it didn't detect any issues with my wireless network adapter. I disabled Windows firewall, my anti-virus, reinstalled the driver again and nothing happened. I tried to add a device from devices and printers, but it didn't detect my wireless adapter. I checked the settings for my wireless adapter under power options and it's set to "Maximum Performance" for both "Plugged in" and "On battery". I checked the properties of my wireless adapter, unticked the option "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" from power management, and made sure that the transmit power in the advanced tab is set to "5" which is the highest. I installed the latest HP Support Assistance software and it didn't detect or solve the problem. Just to mention, my local area connection works fine when I plug the ethernet cable.

As we understand, your wireless adapter is not detecting any available networks, and the issue persists after trying multiple actions. Please keep in mind that this adapter has reached End of Interactive Support, so the options available for it are very limited.

4. Reboot the PC or scan for hardware changes, check device manager and if an older wireless driver is detected and installed, repeat the actions to uninstall and delete it as well. Repeat this process until the OS does not allow deleting the driver, or until the controller shows as Unknown Device.

I have followed your instructions and installed this intel PROSet Wireless software, then found that my router started detecting the neighboring networks including my home router. However, it still doesn't want to connect to my home router anymore and it connects to the university router successfully without any problems! Sometimes, it connects to my router then disconnects again but most of the time it doesn't want to connect giving me this message "Unable to connect to this network". I have switched my router off for almost 30 minutes then switched it on many times, but still can't connect to it. Putting in mind that my iPhone can connect to it with no problems. My router model is TP-LINK, Model: TL-WR841N(PL), S/N: 2163114006147.

I've been using the powerline adapters for several years with no problems or issues. Suddenly, two days ago I am no longer able to get an internet connection. The ethernet light is lit on the device connected to my router. The device that is plugged into the wall near my computer does not have the ethernet light light up. The other lights are lit. I have switched devices and the same thing happens, so I don't believe that it is an issue with the units themselves. Both units are plugged directly into the wall and I have paired them a couple of different times since this has happened. I have even tried different outlets in my apartment. It's always the same result. The unit that is plugged directly to the router has the ethernet light lit up, but the one plugged into another outlet does not have the ethernet light lit up. I have reset the router and it didn't help. I am able to use the wifi, so I don't think it is an issue with the router.

I even purchased a new pair (different brand) and I cannot get them to work either. I have no idea why they stopped working. I haven't changed any of my equipment. Same router, same laptop, same ISP, etc.

I have the same problem. Not sure what happened but today I cannot get an internet connection on the one that is not connected directly to my router. Everything else works fine. I can see both devices when I use the utility app but the 2nd device just doesn't get internet even when I swap them. Tried with 2 ports in the same room and that didn't help either.

EDIT:

Well, I feel foolish. I had been struggling with it for a couple hours. It turned out the device that plugged into the other adapter had a loose ethernet cable. I pushed it in properly and it worked.

I have tp-link wn781nd wifi adapter after installing zorin is its not working it connects to network and after 1 min says activation of network connection failed sometimes it didn't even work and show available network anyone knows how to fix this issue ?

What I am outlining below is the complicated way.

The reason why is because when the kernel upgrades, you would need to reinstall the wifi drivers. And needing wifi access, you really likely won't want to do that each time.

DKMS (Dynamic Kernel Module Support) allows that the drivers are tied into the newer kernel each time the kernel upgrades.

You can Copy and Paste each line, one at a time, into terminal. Watch the output. If you get an error, stop and please ask to verify things here in thread:

I'm facing this strange problem from yesterday where if I select NAT as the network adapter in VMWare, I'm not getting any internet connection in the VM. I have a requirement where I have to have the network adapter as NAT.

In my case, it was VMWare NAT service that was not running. I started it by going to services.msc and the internet started working on the guest VM. In the Virtual Machine Settings, choose NAT as Network connection.
