I have started this new thread for a new member: peter

I am new to this group and I would like information about William Warner Anslow from Staffordshire, he married Peninnah Long in Berkeley, Gloucestershire in 1848 and they migrated to Victoria as unassisted passengers arriving on 11 November 1850 on the ship "Waterloo". They had three children born in Melbourne, though one died in an accident in Ballarat in 1859. William Warner Anslow was a stock auctioneer with a particular interest in horses and went into business with various partners. They moved to the Broadsound district near Rockhampton around 1860, later to Clermont, and finally to Rockhampton where William died in 1869. His widow and surviving child William George Anslow then moved to Sydney where Peninnah Anslow had relatives. She died in 1909 and is buried in Waverley Cemetery.
William George Anslow set himself up as a stock and share broker in Sydney and had a wife and four children but died suddenly on a business visit to Perth in 1896 and is buried there in East Perth Cemetery.

Kevin,
thank you for the information regarding the birth of William George Anslow, which I was unaware of.  I had found reference to his birth in the "Argus" newspaper on Trove, though his name is not mentioned.  As an adult, he was a prominent rower in Sydney in the 1870s and early 1880s and after his marriage moved to Manly and was on the local council there.  When he dided suddenly, his widow married the former mayor of Manly Council and they lived in Brisbane.  Of her children, one died in the First World War and although the other three married, none had children that I am aware of.
