Dear all
We have details of Elizabeth from a transcription of marriage certificate sent to us by Pat Gorrie. Benjamin James HANSLOW and Elizabeth PERKINS married at Christ Church CofE, Sofala on 11 February 1873 Witnesses were Thomas Hapgood and Lily Frappell, minister Charles Vaughan, both Ben and Elizabeth were of Crudine Ck, he was a farmer and claims he was a bachelor, she was a widow, she signed with a cross.
On NSW BDM she was daughter of George at time of death, but we can find no birth to a George GREEN of an Elizabeth at right time.
Eric Owen claims her first husband was William Perkis, and they were the parents of Sarah Perkins who married Samuel Peter Hanslow; he lists her name as Elizabeth Woodage Perkins.
This may be Elizabeth HANSLOW domestic duties of Crudine Creek, sub district Sofala Division Macquarie on 1903 electoral roll.
We have a photo of the grave in Portland Cemetery, NSW “In loving memory of Benjamin J HANSLOW died 10th Sept 1913 aged 82 years and Elizabeth HANSLOW died 11th Aug 1919 aged 85 years At Rest”
We have also found on NSW BDMs William PURKIS married Elizabeth Woodage GREEN 1856 #1048/1856. A William PURKIS died 1872 #6633/1872 son of Samel & Anne. We have found 7 children for them including Sarah who married Samuel Peter HANSLOW. If this is correct William died the year before she married Benjamin.
Not conclusive, but heading in the right direction. Hope this helps
Good wishes
Margaret and Eric

Hi All
Am having problems with particulars of a possible marriage between a
Benjamin James Hanslow and Esbert Green. They had a son, of course
named him
Benjamin James on the 3 July 1876. The extract of birth 20293
indicates the
family lived at Sofala, Esbert was born at Bathurst, her age at the
date of
Ben's birth was 39. Witness to the birth was a Sophia Green. Have not
been
able to glean any facts from NSW GOV BDM records.
Can any one shed any light on this. I have varied information from
others
sources but cannot put everything into perspective. It maybe they were
never
married or the marriage was not recorded or the information on the
birth
was recorded incorrectly.
If you visit BDM it does reflect Elizabeth Perkins also was married to
a
Benjamin James and they had a son in the same year, you guess it,
called him
Benjamin James.
Of course, the Benjamin James 1834 could be the father in the above
instances, and is the son of Benjamin James 1805. This fact I am sure
of...

Can I please ask if you are starting a new line of enquiry you start a
new post.
If relying to a posting only carrry on with the same topic, do not
start a new line of enquiry.
This is a polite request because it gets confusing trying to follow
topics otherwise.
