Dear all

Just to add in our say, we concur with the information posted yesterday as to where he fits in to the family of Benjamin and Catherine.

Except that we have that he and Sarah Ann n HONEYSETT have 4 children:

Cecil Harold Weerona 7 June 1918  Gulgong

Selina Mary  b 14 February 1920  Gulgong

Norma Jean (or Margaret)  5 October 1924

Noel  31 January 1926  Gulgong

All are married and have families of their own.  Our source was a GEDCOM from M STEET.  Cecil is on the NSW BDM Federation microfiche, but the others are too late a date for that.

Hi Margaret and Eric,

Andrew Sprowle Perkins Hanslow and Sarah Ann Honeysett did indeed have four children.

Cecil Harold Hanslow (Where ever did you get Weerona from) who married Lillian Ford.
I stayed there in my childhood and grew up with my Cousins, Cecil Andrew, Norman Ernest,
Harold James, Dale and Susan

Then came my Aunt Selina Mary, she married a John Robertson, who had Neil who was killed
when he was thirteen, I attended his funeral.  Then John who carted me around every chance
he got.  Then there was Paul who they adopted.  Don't know what happened to him.

Then came my Aunt Norma May, she married John Curran and they live at Cattai, Windsor, my Cousins
were Edward, Allen, Jennifer and Lurraine.  I spent quite a bit of time at their farm.

Then there was Noel.  He was my father, my mother was Roma June Howlett.  I have three brothers
and two sisters still living.  So I guess I know more about Andrew and Sarah than most, we were a
tight knit family and always stayed in touch and shared holiday times and Christmas's together, the next
one who would be able to add her side would be my Cousin Susan, who has the research that her mother did.

I hope this clears things up.  I am only too happy to discuss more if anyone is interested.  I didn't realise that
there were so many people interested in the same people I am.  I think it's great.
Regards,
Deann

http://trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/12926910?searchTerm=john

This refers to a court heaing on Thursday 8 May 1851.
Could this be the John (Samuel) Hanslow is why he changed is name/
Who is the Benjamin Hanslow charged with him?

This site could be a good research site.

Hi all,

If it was our Benjamin Hanslow snr in this newspaper report for stealing then maybe that's one reason son Joseph Thomas Hanslow moved his family away from Surry Hills to the country. Joseph was a baker. There was a gold rush on 1851 in NSW wasn't there? Don't know if this was a factor in Joseph Hanslow's move out west. Family story was that Joseph had lung problems hence the move to a farm at Goolma.
Not sure what year they left Sydney.

Kind regards,
Susan, in
NSW.
