They can try to fight us on it, but they're going to lose in terms of replacing the carpet and repainting the walls. They already charged the previous occupants for that and never did it.

Of course, but you know they're going to try to charge us anyway.
If I had to guess they're going to be extremely hard to get in contact with once we've turned in our keys, so that fight might be worth having now.
They'll probably initially try to charge us for things that we reported to them that they never fixed during the lease (i.e. moldy downstairs cabinets, sagging floor) as well. Luckily we documented everything in emails. Unfortunately they didn't respond to most of them.
