Hi Babar and everyone,

Thank you Babar for such a great session! Pictures are nice; the food
and the talks were really awesome!

I have summarized the thoughts we shared during the two meetings and
uploaded it to Google Docs[1], so everyone with the link might join,
edit, comment, share their thoughts, improve it and make it come true
:-)

Dear Vietnamese Open Source Community,

Greetings from Hanoi!

Yesterday i had a meeting with your Open Source community representatives!

Let me introduce my self, I am Babar Zahoor  student of IT since 1997, i am one of the Founder of  Pakistan Open Source Foundation.

I am very much happy for providing me time to share my thoughts & ideas about Open Source Technologies promotion & usage.
At  this time you are  facing some challenges, these challenges we already faced in past and some how still facing.

I am enlisting here one challenge with solution.

1. Open Source technologies are not easy to learn and use i.e. Linux Operating System.

We discussed that,  how in Pakistan we spread the  knowledge of Linux + Open Source Technologies by making  Computer based training in our native language URDU and shared with IT community.
i.e.

After some time we get immense results in IT community of Pakistan and still having more results day by day  among the IT experts & common users of computer.

IT experts in Pakistan are now talking about new things in Open Source Technologies.
In past they were only asking installing Linux and configuring DNS, DHCP, etc but now the situation is good.

Common Computer users also have started usage of  Linux in daily routines (Internet browsing etc.)

I am sure if we start thinking towards new techniques to share knowledge and providing awareness about Open Source Technologies in our countries we will be able to save huge money which is going out side from our countries on the name of software licences.
We  can utilize this money for health, education and other infrastructure projects in our countries.

We also discussed about the possibilities to start collaborations between Open Source Communities of Vietnam & Pakistan.

I hope we will start moving forward and will keep sharing our information with each other to make our dream come true to make our countries prosper by using secure, stable with full of FREEDOM Open Source Technologies.

Regards,
Babar
