Went to for a ride this morning up the great Sierra Nevada. A 60 miles ride from the valley floor up to 3400 feet to Stirling city, an ancient
trading post on the Oregon trail, a place where one can not even spent a penny anymore. I had a silent dialogue with the forest surrounding
when I happen to meet two men on the side of the road. One was a Vietnam Vet that had been based in Danang during the war.The other was a native american Indian that believed in some sort a order and said that I didn't happen to be there and at that very moment by accident.
Consequently he invited me over to a ceremony where we were to bury owl feathers.
When the great eagle and the mountain lion and the holy deer and the mountain spirit sat with us facing the forest where the feathers had been buried we were getting out of the realm of reality...
I went back down to Chico, to the valley floor.
