Problem: Can’t install Handy Backup 7.3. Error “Service 'Novosoft Backup Network Coordinator 7' (NSBackupCoordinator) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services”

Solution:

The following steps can help you resolving this issue:

I. Try uninstalling completely the previous version (if you have one). To uninstall it:

1) Go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs -> find Handy Backup and remove it

or go to Start -> All programs -> Handy Backup -> Uninstall

2) Go to the Handy Backup installation folder (by default it is located in "Program Files") and delete everything in "Novosoft" folder.

3) Install and register the new version

II. Please try running the software with administrative rights (rights button click -> Run as administrator). Sometimes logging on as administrator is not enough. You may also try using default admin user account to install the software. To access default admin user account please follow the steps on the website below:

http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/enable-the-hidden-administrator-account-on-windows-vista/

III. Run Command Prompt and execute the following command there.

msiexec /i "%installer_path%\handybackup_setup.msi" /lv "%log_path%\install.log"

Change %installer_path% with the path to the folder where the installer package is located.

Change %log_path% with the path to the folder where you would like the log file to be saved.

If the problem persists send the log file to us.
