In May 2023, British DJ and producer Cass[1] posted an unofficial remix of the song "Ferrari Horses" on his TikTok,[2] which gained attraction and went viral on the app. The remix was officially retitled "Prada" and was released as a single on 11 August 2023.[3]
"Prada" topped the charts in eight music markets and reached the top ten in various regions. The song peaked at number 2 on the UK Singles Chart, and sat at number one for many weeks on the UK Dance Singles Chart.[4]
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA states: "With 'Ritual', we are kicking off the new era of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA with a bang. 'Color Decay' saw us diving into the emotional struggles so many of our generation are going through, so we wanted to write a song that amped up the energy level. Lyrically, 'Ritual' is about the mundane experiences of life, surrendering to the monotony rather than going against it."
THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA continues to smash boundaries and expectations. They are truly operating in the height of their career, having moved over 75,000 tickets on the "Metalcore Dropouts" tour, during which they've been playing material almost exclusively new material from 2022's "Color Decay". Rather than focus on their deep (and much-loved) catalog, the band is leaving fans even hungrier for even more new songs.

After an opening electronic pulsing sound, the track blasts you in the face with full double-kick ferocity, rocking with urgency until hitting the chorus where you get one of the few moments of melodic clean singing within the track. But that's only a brief respite as the pulse-pushing mayhem races to the finish.
"The idea of this song is about a person being intentionally difficult even though happiness wants to find him/her," singer Mike Hranica says, giving the listener a deeper insight into the powerful subject matter. "In handling my own mental health struggles, I've found that I oftentimes never choose contentment on a fundamental basis: almost like I've skipped Step One. The narrator of 'Watchtower' is afraid to approach Step One and instead flees to perceive his/her life as a sort of passive overlooker instead."
The Devil Wears Prada have also unleashed an impactful new visual to accompany the song. Watch the clip, directed by Christopher Commons and Kate McFerren, in the player provided below. If you're digging the new song, it's available via streaming services at this location.
"Watchtower" is the second piece of new music the band has issued since their ZII EP in 2021, with "Sacrifice" preceding it last fall. In coordination with release of the new song, The Devil Wears Prada have also made available new "Watchtower" merch via their website. Check out the new long sleeve shirt featuring the "eye" artwork right here.
The Devil Wears Prada will also be returning to the road on March 26 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Their spring run carries all the way into early May, wrapping May 3 in Louisville, Kentucky. See the full itinerary and get ticketing info via their website.
Back in April, metalcore veterans, The Devil Wears Prada came through Oklahoma City on tour and were kind enough to come by the shop and rip through their song, Termination for our newest episode of Songs At The Shop. Get your dancin' shoes on. This one's a banger.
KARACHI: The music video of the new pop hit "Prada", starring Bollywood superstar Alia Bhatt, is currently making waves, but the song's creators, The Doorbeen, face charges of plagiarism by the Pakistani media.
The song "Prada" was released on August 12 and became a blockbuster in no time, garnering over 21 million views on YouTube. Its composers are the two-member band, The Doorbeen, who earlier shot to fame with their number, "Lamberghini".
When last we heard from Arca, she announced her upcoming album KICK ii with "Born Yesterday," a single featuring Sia. It was unsurprising to see how well Arca took to anthemic pop music considering how many shapes her sound has taken over the years, and she's not done experimenting with chart-topping music: "Prada" and "Rakata," two new KICK ii singles out today, offer a twisted and apocalyptic vision of reggaeton.
The songs debuted on Wednesday in a music video directed by frequent Arca collaborator Frederik Heyman. It is, in a word, fucking wild. That's two words, I know, sorry. This video has thrown me for a loop this morning. It features a bunch of CGI Arcas in a variety of intense settings. They all feel biblical and sci-fi at the same time, like Hieronymus Bosch meets H.R. Giger.
'Prada' is about celebrating psychosexual versatility; a song explicitly about transness and nonbinary modes of relating the sexual energy of the collective subconscious as a celebration of life; it is a song about defying shame and healing ancestral wounds; about the futurity of desire and love as a moebius strip; about kink as an engine, about sex and love, and above all else about simultaneity of being able to surrender and submit as well as being able to overpower and dominate within a collaboratively created space of consent; to throw glitter in the face of barking demons so as to let them know that love spans fully across [the] breadth of mystery of life and death.
The Flaming Lips' "Do You Realize??" was named in March 2009 the official Rock Song of Oklahoma. Four years later, Oklahoma's governor Mary Fallin pulled the tune as the state's official rock song in a move her office said had more to do with priorities than musical taste.
Fall Out Boy's "The Kids Aren't Alright" song title is not a reference to The Offspring's 1998 single of the same name. It actually alludes to The Who's 1979 rockumentary film called The Kids Are Alright.
Who writes a song about a name they found in a phone book? That's just one of the everyday things these guys find to sing about. Anything in their field of vision or general scope of knowledge is fair game. If you cross paths with them, so are you.
You might've caught The Devil Wears Prada playing a new song called "Please Say No" live this summer, or maybe you didn't. I don't know what you do in your spare time. Either way, the band is streaming the studio version of the track right now ahead of their new album due out on October 11 titled The Act.Here's what vocalist Mike Hranica had to say about the track."'Please Say No' is based off of a scene within the novel Never Come Morning by Nelson Algren. This song is more difficult to explain than any other set of lyrics I've assembled. Saying the song is derivative of class injustice is insufficient and saying the song is born of a violent crime is cheap. Lyrically, I'd urge interested listeners to read the book. Musically, I'll encourage listeners to enjoy what I consider to be our moodiest effort on The Act."amazon id=B07X2M1D1C]Want More Metal?
