I am Paola Cagna, a PhD scholar at the University of Rome Sapienza. Dr. Alessandra Mezzadri (SOAS) advice me to contact you as you are working in garment sector that is interesting for my research project.  

The focus of my research is the self-employed women in India, particularly, my research questions aim at investigating the links between these activities (mainly home based) and middlemen or intermediaries as a bridge between producer and market. At the moment, I have identified my theoretical framework (I found a lot on garment sector, less on other sectors) and I am now planning the fieldwork in order to find a case study that suits with my research purposes. My idea is collecting qualitative data among women about their market access and their relations with middlemen. Unfortunately, I do not have a network in India and I would like to ask you if you can get me in touch with somebody (organisations or researchers) who will be able to help me. I will very much appreciate your help.
