National Fibre Policy - commenting period extended

Dear Members,

Date for comments has been extended upto 5th July, 2010. Please do
respond, as suggested.

the Draft National Fibre Policy was released. It can be downloaded
from the link given below:

Unfortunately, government seems to limit itself to this website as
the
only public domain. the window period for comments is also very
short,
from 13th to 21st June, 2010. Today is the last day for submitting
comments.

At the outset, the policy is clearly endorsing a focus on MMF, and
reduction on natural fibres. Also it is endorsing GM cotton, though
not in specific terms. I will send out a detailed commentary later.
Now that the Policy is out, we have a job to do, to protect the
interests of small producers.
