Hi! I’m looking for Christmas Music for handbell choir plus instrumental ensemble, but would like to have scores available for piano or organ supplementation (aka….our instrumental ensemble uses a lot of Jeff Cranfill arrangements…..very accessible and the piano hides any parts not covered by a small instrumental group). Any ideas? I’m securing music for a Christmas 2024 concert for both groups to be able to play a few selections together.
Thanks in advance,
Ellee

South County Community Handbell Choir did Christmas Bells Overture (Wagner) with Bells, Piano and Trumpet. It had parts for full band. It was a hit.

Good morning, Ellee!

What kind of instrumental group? Strings? Winds? Both? And what level (both instruments & bells)?

Michele,
Instrumental: Mainly winds. We are a small group of about 15 instrumentalists. 2 clarinets, 1 flute, oboe, 2 alto sax, French horn, 2 trumpets, 2 trombones, percussion. I prefer to stay at a medium easy to medium level for them. I really like to have pieces that offer piano or organ with it (that’s why I use Jeff Cranfill mostly for wind music).
Handbells: 5 octaves. I like level 2+ but I often challenge them with a level 3 piece sprinkled here and there. They are very capable.
Just would love to combine these groups for a couple of songs if possible- in a moderate level difficulty.  Our handbells are probably a little more advanced than the wind ensemble but they are capable - especially with piano or organ backdrop.
Thanks for any suggestions!
Ellee

As many know, I have numerous handbell arrangements with Full orchestra. However, most of these arrangements also have the same arrangement for piano and organ. If nothing else, you could purchase the piano and organ music and I would be happy to "pull out" your needed parts from the orchestra arrangement. Many of the handbell arrangements are published by Hope. However, some are self published. I realize this is a little complicated.....as your needs are also unusual.
I suggest you go to my website- www.lindamckechnie.com
Then go to "published music"- then "Handbells" and scroll down to "handbells and instruments"
email me at li...@lindamckechnie.com and I may be able to assist you. Hope this is helpful
Linda

Hi, Ellie,
God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen  RE8531  3-7 oct. L3
This arrangement offers a few instrumental parts - mandolin (or any C instrument),  violin and piano.  You have to look at it to see all the possibilities.
