I heard Farewell to Stromness just recently, upon the death of Peter Davies - and I can’t get this out of my ear!  Has anyone set this or plan to arrange for handbells?  If not, how does one go about using the piano music (or guitar music) for arrangements?  I’m not an arranger so would only be able to transcribe the piano score.  Just a thought….  C

I love this piece. However, it seems to be a real issue even to simply
purchase sheet music for the piece, let along arrange it, probably due to
its British copyright. Has anyone done any research on it?

You can purchase ($2.99) a very simplified piano version (http://www.sheetmusicdirect.com/se/ID_No/42368/Product.aspx) and there seems other ways to get a copy (purchase to download) but all with copywriter cautions so not useful for arrangement. Has anyone out there ever contacted Boosey & Hawkes Publisher about getting permission for a bell arrangement? C

Stephanie, I also downloaded a guitar version (http://www.scorser.ru/download.aspx?id=A3455C9DDB5D37599ABA5E0C1FAD173F&ip=2011283236) and used it to listen to the piece played on a piano (I guess the original version was on piano). Both were the same music arrangement so you can see the structure of the music. C
