Sticky clapper

Hi folks,
I have a Malmark E6 with a sticky clapper and haven't found the right
thing to do to loosen it up. Is it probably just dust? I don't remember
any mistreatment or exposure that that bell has had that would cause
this. Do I need to take the clapper assembly apart and clean it?
Thanks for any tips you can give me.

I had one that felt 'sticky', too.  It's probably fixable by slightly backing out the little hex screws on the side of the joint where the clapper swivels.  That's how you adjust the friction in the joint.
