After the recent discussion on this list about polishing creams for handbells, I bought a container of Blue Magic, on the recommendation of several users.

So now I'm looking at the label, and it says to use it on:  chrome, aluminum, magnesium, brass, gold, copper, silver, stainless steel, and fiberglass.

No mention of bronze.

Please reassure me that it's OK to use Blue Magic on my handbells.  Or the church's handbells...

Thanks,

Linda Lamb

Just this morning, I picked up my copy of Spring Vibrations from Jeffers and perused through it.  There on the page with the SemiChrome was Blue Magic.  I  wouldn’t think they would sell it if it weren’t safe for Handbells.

Malmark sells Blue Magic now instead of Simichrome Polish!
We have been using it now for about 3 years or so, and really like the Blue Magic :)

Thanks!

Yep. If it's safe for chrome, it's safe for bell Bronze. 👍

We had a cleaning session yesterday using Blue Magic and the bells look beautiful. At the auto parts store I also picked up some 'finishing cloths' which I think made all the difference in the final shine. Claire

Hi, Claire -

Can you give more details about these cloths? What brand, etc?

Thanks!

I use it all the time. Even the old semichrome was the same.

If you go to an auto parts shop, right next to the polishes (of which Blue Magic was one of several kinds) are a wide variety of polishing cloths for chrome - 'microfiber'. I purchased the 'finishing' ones. Not too expensive as they were on sale and washable/reusable. I don't have a brand name as we discarded the wrapping. At the store I went to I found packets of three, five and 10. Good luck.

We use Blue Magic on our Whitechapel bells and it works better than any other polish we've used in the past.
