A teacher in a local school contacted me with the following question.

I currently work with K-8 music and art at our school and have recently been working with 7th & 8th graders ringing tone chimes.  I am noticing that several are not working correctly, something in the housing.  I have already tightened what is needed.  What do you suggest for repairing them?  I have about 5 that need work.

Since I have no experience with Suzuki chimes, I told her I would refer her question to our wide community. If any one can offer specific advice, please contact her directly. Her name is Natalie Reynolds; her school email address appears below

Thank you very much for any help you can offer.

One of the AGEHR members in my Region is with Suzuki Corporation. FYI,

The tone plug inside the chime has probably dropped so the chime is no longer in pitch. That's a continuing problem with Suzuki chimes. In order to repair it, you used to have to send it to San Diego to the warehouse to have it repaired. If your warranty (5 years?) on the set has expired, they may not repair it for you.

Phone number for Suzuki used to be  800/854-1594
