C6 and C7 bell assignments

Is it a bad idea to assign C6 and C7 to the same person?  This person also has D6 and 7.  She is ringing 4IH (brand new 4IH ringer, btw) and I'm finding that in much of our music the bells (particularly C6 and 7) are doing very different things (C6 playing melody, C7 playing eighth note ostinato, e.g.).  Gets even more complex when chimes have to be rung as well.  For an example: Honore's Beach Spring Stomp: I am conducting and ringing the C7 bell because it was just too much for the position 8 ringer to do both C6 and 7.

I have 4 octaves and 10 ringers.  I looked at several 4 octaves/10 ringer plans and came up with this:

I usually put C7 at ringer 7. The A5 and B5 position. And even the. It can move around a little between 7 and and ringer 8.

Another option is to assign the "little" extra notes on a piece by piece situation (who has hands free to play), rather than one set assignment.

I usually give C7 to the C6 ringer but if it's not working for you try giving it to your ga6 ringer?

We play 5 octaves with 12 ringers and routinely give the C7 to the C6 ringer.  I don't have a copy of the Honore piece, but I would look at the music and determine who in that ostinato line would be able to ring that bell.  Michele's suggestion of the GA6 ringer is probably a good one.

Often, it works well to put C7 with the G/A6 ringer...would that help?
