The Gourds are scheduled to appear on Friday May 20 at MacHenry's in
Fort Worth.
That's four days away and tickets are going fast.
After 10 years together and 7 recordings it should be easy to define
and explain The Gourds. Alas it is not. Terms like "roots-rock
wonders", "Americana Barn Burners" are often used to describe
their "alt country" style and sound.
Clearly informed and inspired by classic rock and roll, country, funk,
soul, cajun, celtic and folk music, The Gourds continue to expand and
hone ( but not too finely) the freewheeling, good time party fare that
has been the hallmark of their decade plus career.
The bands hilarious "hick-hop" deconstruction of Snoop Dogg's
hit
"Gin and Juice" is a sensation in it's own right. This is a band
that will not be ignored and a show not to be missed.
