Hi Lisa
I spoke with Bob Brooks last week and didn’t know if any other department would like to send Bob a patch.
Thanks
Scott

Hello Chief Baron,
Hi, Bob Brooks, Deputy Fire Marshal for the City of Albany FD in Oregon. Very nice speaking with you and thank you for allowing me to have one of your department shoulder patches for the fire museum project I am working on.
As I had shared on the phone, I am now just over 8,400 different fire department shoulder patches. My goal is obtain "1 patch for every fire department in America" and then display them in the “Oregon Fire Service Museum and Learning Center” for everyone to view and enjoy. This is a very aggressive goal and one that has never been accomplished in American (fire service) History. WE SHARE A COMMON MISSION. I WANT TO SHOW THE WORLD OUR COLORS AND WHO WE ARE AND BRING THEM ALL TOGETHER IN ONE PLACE.
I have been collecting for 26 out of my 35 years in the fire service and sure wish I had started sooner. On June 22nd, 2011 I made a bid for the Guinness Book of World Records for the Largest Fire Department Patch collection ever assembled in a public setting and did it. The old record 1992 was 4,513 patches and my new record is 8,158 (and the collection continues).
I have attached a letter from my Fire Chief on City letterhead. He identifies who I am, what I'm doing, supports my activities and offers up his phone number if you would like to call and verify. I can also be reached at (503) 559-9426 if you have any questions at all.
Again, thank you for the shoulder patch you will be sending. If you have any extra patches around the fire house that no one wants or perhaps some of your members have patches they’ve collected and they don’t want any longer, I could sure use them and they can know that they will be a part of this historical project. It's truly "one of a kind". If by chance you also have any historical information on your department I would like very much to receive a copy so that I can also display that with the patch.
None of this would be possible without your trust and support of what I am doing. I close with a thank you and feel free to share any of this information with anyone who is interested.
Bob Brooks
