To explain the transfer station closure a little more in depth. There was a motor vehicle accident at the station. Hancock NH Police Department and Hancock NH Fire Department responded in a way that makes me proud to be a part of this team. Hancock DPW responded for traffic control and assistance with the landing zone. As we were told the closure was an inconvenience to normal business hours but I am saddened by the many ways residents spoke to DPW town employees directing traffic in a professional manner. For safety reasons we closed for the Wednesday hours. Please do not pass the barricades and dump trash by the gate. The transfer station will be open normal hours on this coming Saturday.--

The transfer station will be open for its normal Saturday shift at its normal time. Please be patient with traffic. --
