It's nearly time for the new bunch of arrivals (and our turn to become sempais! - those of us who came last year anyway)
I'm quite excited to be meeting the new people, I'm sure many of you are also looking forward to making new friends :)
Natalie asked me to help with Hanayama Neighbourhood days because I speak some Japanese, so I'll be taking them around to get their phones and bank account set up (which we did at the KEC last year, but somehow the new arrivals have it different this year) but as some of you know, I'm pretty useless with directions, so tours are in the capable hands of the volunteer tour team leaders ^^
Remember last year how when we got here we went to Saizeriya for dinner and then all went to someone's house for a welcoming party?
Not sure at all how these things came to be last year, but would someone like to organize something like this as well this year?
Also last but not least, what Natalie's email was about - remember getting to your apartment with a bag over the door knob with all sorts of goodies? Wasn't it wonderful to receive that as a welcoming present?
So let's do the same (and better!) for this years newbies!
Please feel free to contact me about when you would like to drop off your 500yen coin, for the weekend I'll mostly be in the yama, except for Saturday afternoon when I have my Japanese lesson at KICC.
If there's anything you would like to help with, or know about the newbies, please let me know! (Not guaranteeing answers, but I'll do what I can!)
Cheers,
Mary
Niki and I would love to donate. What is your apartment number again? If you arent there, we will just drop it in your door box.
Thanks for collecting and helping the new JETs.
