I'm a Solaris guy, so please accept my possible wrong wording:
Is it possible to add volumes to a shared disk group?
We need to set up an Oracle RAC cluster, thus we need to have access
to the disk group from two or more hosts simultaniously. Is it
possible to add new volumes to the shared diskgroup without stopping
Oracle while the disk group is imported on all hosts, or do we have
to bring up the disk group on one host only to create the new volume?
Thank you for your support!
Peter
When running Oracle RAC with LVM (you're also using MCServiceGuard with
RAC extension?), it is impossible to add a new volume to the shared
disk group without stopping Oracle. You will need to purchase a
separate product called Cluster Volume Manager, from Veritas. This will
allow you to add volumes to a running RAC MCServiceGuard cluster, using
Veritas as the volume manager - not LVM.
Hope this helps.

Are the diskgroups already activated on both/more hosts and are in access ?
