to HAMS Harm Reduction Professionals

Hi Everyone,

My name is Ashley Bentzel. I am a faculty member at Naropa University, a doctoral candidate at Shippensburg University, and a practicing clinician.

I am reaching out to this group specifically because the current national conversation around Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy (PAT) often centers on a medicalized model, frequently leaving out the vital frameworks of harm reduction, safety, and equity.

For my dissertation, I am investigating the views, attitudes, and perceived barriers regarding PAT among licensed practitioners. I am eager to ensure that the data includes the voices of those working on the front lines of harm reduction. Whether you believe these modalities offer a unique opportunity for risk reduction or you have significant concerns about their rollout and accessibility, your perspective is essential.

Study Quick Facts:

  • Target: All licensed mental health and healthcare professionals.

  • ⏱️ Time: Approximately 5-10 minutes.

  • 🗓️ Deadline: Friday, April 6th

  • 🎁 Incentive: Participants can enter a drawing for an Amazon Gift Card.

I am pushing to close my data collection by next Friday to stay on track for my spring defense, so your timely input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for the critical, grounded work you do every day.

Warmly,

Ashley Bentzel
