Hi all,

I wanted to share about my Women’s Alcohol Use Psychotherapy Group for female identifying individuals seeking to explore their relationship with alcohol. This is an established group with space for a couple new members, meets via Zoom on Wednesdays from 12pm-1:15pm and is open to those who reside in New York or New Jersey.

Utilizing a harm reduction framework, this group provides a safe and supportive space to:
  • Identify multiple meanings and functions of alcohol use, assess potential for harm and risk, and identify opportunities for values-based positive changes.
  • Enhance and practice self-management skills and mindful decision making to manage urges and cravings.
  • Increase self-compassion and normalize ambivalence in the change process.
  • Gain a better understanding of how relationship dynamics, thinking patterns and emotion regulation impact drinking behavior.
  • Connect with other women seeking to increase quality of life through reduced drinking, moderation, or abstinence.

This dynamic, interactive group incorporates skills from various treatment modalities including Integrative Harm Reduction Psychotherapy, ACT and MBSR, in addition to encouraging interpersonal growth. Please feel free to contact me directly with any inquiries or pass along my contact information to anyone you think might benefit. I'm also attaching a flyer for convenience.

Warmly,

Meredith Korsen, LCSW-R
