Greetings, HamSCI Community - HamSCI plans to continue the HamSCIence Zoom sessions in much the same format and schedule as last year: Presentations on the second Thursday of each month, informal 'nets' (discussions) on the weeks in between.
Speakers are needed for the upcoming months (September through April) - we are looking for your suggestions. (Actually, October is booked, the other months are open.)
HamSCIence talks (~30 to 40 minutes in length, plus time for questions) should be well grounded in science, and be at least somewhat related to HamSCI's research interests:
- The Earth's ionosphere and magnetosphere
- Our Sun's heliosphere
- Radio wave propagation
- Modulation methods (modes) which support good science
- Hardware or software solutions employed in our research
- Adjacent areas of science, eg astronomy/astrophysics
- Technical topics involving amateur radio
Speakers' experience levels may run the gamut from university undergraduates to seasoned researchers. Listeners/watchers are generally from the HamSCI community, though we do send out press releases to various media, attracting new people to HamSCI.
If you have a speaker in mind, or perhaps you wish to volunteer, please contact me directly, and my partner in HamSCIence, Dr. Mary Lou West and I, will do our best to follow through.
Regards,
Gary, AF8A
