The Latest progress on the PSWS server upgrade

We are making progress with the server upgrade, but still need to get several important items working....

• It is now possible to upload again; data will be collected but not yet processed (so you won't see it in Observations yet).
• The web site is running, but we still have some work to do so that it can be reached from the public internet.
• We have some tinkering to do, so that https (secure) interoperates with Django (the web platform)

Some notes...

• We are updating the code that handles uploads to make it more efficient for handling the large number of users and files we now have. We have to get this working before we start processing uploads again, but (with some help from ChatGPT!*) the rewrirte is moving right along. We have to make the network file system happy, as we are storing data in this big repository now instead of directly on a server disk. We have about 330 TB available, with further expansion being straightforward.
