Interest in building a Grape

Hello, All,

I am interested in building a Grape, so i went to the site

Design/Build Details for the Grape 1 Low IF Radio Receiver | HamSCI

On that page there is a link to DigiKey,

PC Board BOM Components Order Link from DigiKey.com: www.digikey.com/short/cqdvrhjf

When I follow this link, the part is reported as obsolete. Is there an updated workflow that I can follow to get started?

Robert - True, the SA612 mixer IC is no longer being manufacturred. However, significant stocks exists at some distributors and within the HamSCI Community.

One option is purchasing from Kits & Parts ( https://kitsandparts.com/integratedcircuits.php )

Another option is to search on 'SA612' in the hamsci-psws Google Group ( https://groups.google.com/g/hamsci-psws ). A few there have offered their stock to anyone who wants to build a legacy Grape 1.

Also, I recommend joining the hamsci-psws group, as the Grape versions 1, 1DRF, and 2 are supported there, along with other elements of the Personal Space Weather Station.
