Hello all of you meteor scatter fans! Note that the
MSQP home page reminds us that the Daytime Arietids shower will be enveloping Earth on June 9-11.
This shower is unique in that you do not have to wake up at oh-dark-thirty to work the rocks. It is a daytime shower (not good for visual observations, but it should be fine for MSK 144 QSOs).
Please consider firing up your 10 meter rig and WSJT-X software, MSK144 mode, 28.145 MHz and making as many QSOs as conditions permit. Remember to save your decodes' WAV files, and to upload them to Zenodo after the event. (
Instructions on the HamSCI website.)
If you prefer 6 meters for your MS QSOs, that's fine, we'll take all of the data we can get.
And recall that even if you can only listen on the preferred frequencies (28.145 and 50.260) that would be very useful to the science community - the more data, the better, is the rule.
