Greetings All - On Thursday we'll be holding our weekly HamScience Zoom telecon:  August 22nd at 2000 UTC, or 4PM ET.

We'll have one speaker and one guest, both of whom are well known to the HamSCI community.

Joe Dzekevich, K1YOW will be sharing his statistical analysis of CHU signal levels, based on audio recordings made during the recent total solar eclipse in North America.

Pete Smith, N4ZR, will be joining us to answer questions about the Reverse Beacon Network, one of the key data aggregation sites used in HamSCI's research.  Pete has been involved with the RBN since its earliest days, back in 2009.

Recall that the main purpose for this telecon is to cover the science aspects of HamSCI's activities.  Comments, questions, planning related to the science aspects of any of the HamSCI's many projects are welcome.  These Zoom sessions are typically recorded and made available on HamSCI's YouTube channel at a later date.

New attendees are always welcome.

Is there a recording of the call? I'm interested in K1YOW's talk but I wasn't able to attend the meeting.

Joe Dzerkevech was kind enough to allow his slides from this week's HamSCIENCE telecon to be posted/attached here. (The Zoom recording will be posted to YouTube soon).

Thank you, Joe!

Here's some further background, and some very nice plots, as discussed on the August 29th HamSCIENCE Zoom call.

Recall that Dave Lewis, W2HMT, showed us his observations of WWV and CHU received signal strengths...you can read Dave's observations and see his data and graphs in this post from May of this year.  Thanks for the reminder, Dave!
