Hello HamSCI Community - We are pleased to announce a new season of
monthly HamSCIence Zoom Calls, beginning
Thursday, October 9th, at 4PM Eastern (in the US), or 2000/2100 UTC (summer/winter times)
HamSCIence Zoom presenters will be scheduled to appear on the
second Thursday of each month (Oct 9, Nov 13, Dec 11, Jan 8, etc.) These sessions will be recorded for HamSCI's YouTube channel.
In the 'off' weeks (when no speakers are scheduled) we can have an open, informal net format, where we can socialize a bit, discuss topics related to HamSCI's current and future projects and so on. These 'nets' will not be recorded.
We have our first speaker almost lined up...an announcement will follow soon.
Speaking of speakers...We are always open to suggestions for presenters and topics related to HamSCI's favorite 'spheres': The ionosphere, the magnetosphere and, on a grand scale, the heliosphere. Topics don't have to be focused on research. Past programs have covered diverse topics such as:
- The use of satellites in HF research
- VLF transmitters and related apparatus
- Analysis of WSPR data
- Novel research on equatorial plasma bubbles
Presentations are welcome from scientists, citizen scientists and students (future scientists!). Speaking of students...these sessions are great opportunities for students to cultivate their ideas and hone their presentation skills in a low stress format.
Please pass on your suggestions by replying here or via the HamSCI email address: hamsci <at>
