Greetings, everyone - As mentioned a few weeks back, the HamSCIence Zoom is taking a summer break.  We have no regularly scheduled telecons over the next few months, perhaps restarting in mid-September.

We will have a few special MSQP Zoom Sessions just before, and just after, the Meteor Scatter QSO Party in mid-August.  They will be announced here.

And, just a reminder...meteor scatter activity can be found almost every day, but most stations are on the air early (0500-0900 local) on Saturday mornings.  A few are setting up their stations to monitor 50.260 and/or 28.145 MHz before turning in on Friday nights, so their rigs can capture pings and send them on to PSKReporter.info, even before they wake up.  WSJT/MSK144 - try it, you'll like it (to steal an old advertising phrase from the 1970's).

So hit the beach, read (or write!) a book, go for a bike ride, do some antenna maintenance - get out of the shack during the warm summer months  - 73 de Gary, AF8A

Gary,

Thank you for the update. I’ve been busy here in Kentucky helping out in the aftermath of the EF-4 tornado that devastated a lot of Somerset and London KY.

It’s only about 30 minutes from my home.

Gary Hogsten

One of our Dartmouth students, Sophia Wong '28, has done a project on
the effects of the April eclipse on the AM Broadcast Band.  She is able
to present it to this forum a week from tomorrow, Thursday, June 5.  It
includes a movie of the changes in propagation through the day.

This presentation will be at the time of the PSWS Ops Meeting, 10 AM
next Thursday, June 5.  We do hope to record it for those who will not
be able to see it live.
