We got a lot of the work done yesterday on switching to the new server, but we have a few more problems to iron out.

If you have been monitoring the status of your uploads of data from Grape, rx888 and magentometer systems, you will have noticed upload failures. Our efforts now are focused on resolving this, so that  uploads can resume.

We also noted some problem with name resolution, i.e., both the old server URL (pswsnetwork.caps.ua.edu) and the new one (pswsnetwork.eng.ua.edu) both should point to the new server, but there is something going on with the domain name server (DNS) that is not doing what we need; we are of course going to address that as well. I think the upload problems are a side-effect of DNS name resoution.

I will keep you informed of our progress...     73- Bill (AB4EJ)

Bill, I just received the new hard drive, shall I wait to install until the change over is complete?

Hello Hetzal - it doesn't really matter; but I guess you might as well wait, as we are working on some issues with getting the client systems to connect.  I can make it work on my station, but it took a couple of manual interventions, and we are trying to eliminate that. I will put out another message when we have that straightened out...  tnx es 73 - Bill
