We are still looking into the connectivity of the system, but I don't expect a quick resolution*... realistically, we are probably looking at the middle of next week. I will continue to keep you informed as best I can.

  • When you change the DNS, it is supposed to sync with the other DNSs (Domain Name Servers).  Something is not working there.
  • To run https (secure), you need to have the certificate and key files synchronized and all in the right places. There is some difficulty because we are trying to support use of both the old URL and the new one, which led to a mismatch needing to be resolved.
  • The UA firewall has to be happy with the two previous items above, but maybe it isn't.
  • Finally, this set of problems is one of many that the IT team is working on.
  • Hopefully, we don't lose a whole lot of data.

At least, we (so far) haven't confused English & metric units, leading to a crash of the vehicle on the surface.

Hi Bill - you are doing an absolutely outstanding job of communicating the server status.
Before, now during, and likely after the completion.

Everyone appreciates your attention to letting folks know the status.
This ought to be an example of best practices of an IT cutover.

Hi Bill,

Many of my sites continue to upload, but I can no longer log on to the PSWS dashboard to retrieve my 'tokens'.  Both URLS resolve to the same (old, I think) IP address:

wsprdaemon@KJ6MKI-Ryzen:/etc/radio$ ping pswsnetwork.caps.ua.edu
PING pswsnetwork.eng.ua.edu (130.160.26.31) 56(84) bytes of data.
^C
--- pswsnetwork.eng.ua.edu ping statistics ---
3 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 2039ms

wsprdaemon@KJ6MKI-Ryzen:/etc/radio$ ping pswsnetwork.eng.ua.edu
PING pswsnetwork.eng.ua.edu (130.160.26.31) 56(84) bytes of data.
^C
--- pswsnetwork.eng.ua.edu ping statistics ---
4 packets transmitted, 0 received, 100% packet loss, time 3058ms

wsprdaemon@KJ6MKI-Ryzen:/etc/radio$

Is that an expected problem until next week?

Rob
