My approach has been slightly different. I wanted a CW skimmer that would provide spots more relevant to my QTH than the ones that pop up in the clusters. I got a Web-888 https://www.rx-888.com/web/ and have all the parts to set things up except one, a round tuit. Those seem to be so hard to come by. Once I find one and get things set up, I’ll report back.
Slightly more seriously, I was thinking of getting a standalone mini-PC for running CW Skimmer. If anyone has had any experience using one of those, I’d love to hear their thoughts.

I’m using a very powerful minisforum i9-13900H mini-PC to run wsprdaemon right now. Yes, it’s about $840, but it is very powerful. Regular $1049 with $210 instant coupon. With its small size, and SFP+ optical ethernet ports, it could be mounted with the RX888 at the antenna, and run the fiber into the home switch. My Ubiquiti switches would support that.
MINISFORUM MS-01 Mini Workstation Core i9-13900H 32GB RAM 1TB SSD Mini PC, HDMI+2X USB4 8K Display, 2x10G SFP+ Port, 2x2.5G LAN Port, Support M.2 2280/22110/U.2 SSD/RTX 3050 Graphics Cards

BTW the RX888 is from aliexpress a month or so ago, for about $204 with shipping. From the ‘HamRadioTech store’ on aliexpress. It claims $206.45 including all duties. I have had very good results with AliExpress, except for a year ago when the scammer was selling fake RX888 units on AliExpress. Frankly I’ve had similar bad experience with domestic eBay sellers, and a few domestic Amazon sellers.
I’ll let you know whether I pay any additional fees (tariff) on delivery. Right now, I’m running one RX888 on a Pixel Technologies loop antenna with its PixelTech preamp (on an i9-11900K), and the other is using the DXE RSVE1 short vertical antenna and the minisforum i9 computer. I’ve got a few spare desktop PCs that would match or exceed that computer’s spec, with the third RX888, and an N6GN SaS that I will build after Hamvention. I have all the components; I just also happen to need to move the TAPR store to Ohio for next week…
